4.1. To clear cookies in Microsoft Edge:
Click on the Menu icon (icon with 3 lines) at the top right-hand side. Click on the clock icon, this is the ‘History’ tab. Click on clear ‘All history’. You can now indicate exactly what you wish to clear. In any case, tick ‘Cookies and stored website data’ and click on ‘Clear’. At the bottom, you can indicate whether you always wish to clear this data when closing down Microsoft Edge.
4.2 To clear Cookies in Chrome:
Click on the icon with 3 lines at the top right-hand side. Click on ‘Settings’ > ‘History’ > clear ‘Browsing data’. In any case, make sure ‘Clear cookies and other site and plug-in data’ is ticked. You can also indicate how old the Cookies must be. Here, select 'All'.
4.3 To clear Cookies in Firefox:
Click on the icon with three small lines at the top right-hand side. Go to ‘Options’ > ‘Privacy’. Click on ‘Clear your recent history’. Under ‘Details’ indicate exactly what you wish to clear. In any case, tick ‘Cookies’. You can also indicate how old the Cookies must be. Here, select 'All'.
4.4 To clear Cookies in Safari:
On the top left-hand side of the menu bar, click on ‘Safari’ > ‘Preferences’. At the top of the window, select the ‘Privacy’ tab. Then click on ‘Clear all Website data’.
4.5 To clear Cookies in Internet Explorer:
Click on the cog icon at the top right-hand side. Go to the menu ‘Security’ > ‘Clear browsing history’. You can now indicate what exactly you wish to clear. In any case, tick ‘Cookies and website data’. At the bottom of the window click on ‘Clear’.
You can set your internet browser to not accept cookies, or so you receive a warning when a cookie is installed, or to remove cookies from your hard drive.
You can do this using the settings of your browser. Bear in mind that some graphic elements may not be shown, or that you may no longer be able to use certain features.
5.1 To block cookies in Chrome:
Click on the tab icon (three stripes) and select ‘Options’, scroll down and click on ‘Show advanced settings’. Click under the ‘Privacy’ button on ‘Contents settings’. Under ‘Cookies’, select ‘Block’.
5.2 To block cookies in Firefox:
Go to menu or ‘Extra’ > ‘Options’ > ‘Privacy’ tab. Under the ‘Cookies’ option, untick the option ‘Accept website cookies’, and then select ‘Accept third-party cookies: Never’.
5.3 To block cookies in Safari:
Click on the cog at the top right-hand side, select ‘Preferences’ > ‘Privacy’, and click on ‘Block cookies: Always’.
5.4 To block cookies in Internet Explorer:
To block third-party cookies, go to the menu ‘Extra’ > ‘Internet Options’ > ‘Privacy’ and, under Settings, click on ‘Advanced’. Tick ‘Override automatic cookie handling’, go to ‘Direct cookies’ and tick ‘Accept’, at ‘Indirect cookies’ tick “Block” and click on ‘OK’.
